Steps of Sunshine 2018

On May 12, 2018, We took a trip to Baan Thap School in Mae Jam District with 50 pairs of shoes and school supplies. It was my first time organizing this event.

When we arrived, the kids were shy at first, but that quickly changed when they saw the boxes of shoes and supplies. We gave each child a pair of shoes and handed out school supplies. Watching them try on the new pairs of shoes and hold their new supplies was a moment I’ll never forget.

The teachers told me how important shoes are for these kids. Many of them walk long distances to school without any protection for their feet. The shoes don’t just make them more comfortable, but they also keep them safe from injuries and infections. Spending time with them, seeing their smiles, and hearing their laughter reminded me why I started this project in the first place.
